Argentina started their 2018 World Cup with an unconvincing draw and Messi also missed a penalty. Croatia needs to consolidate their position in this group following their opening group game win.

Argentina had a shocker against Iceland in their 2018 World Cup opening group D game. Messi who is expected to carry this side had a poor game and also missed a penalty.  It is normal for teams to have off days and the result against Iceland was exactly that, a bad day at the office. Croatia who won 2 nil against Nigeria will have to be at their best. They will start the game 2 points ahead of Argentina and if they can keep it tight and hit a desperate Argentina side on the break who knows maybe the could put an end to Argentina. France made things difficult in their opening 2018 World Cup match against Australia. They take on Peru who lost their opening match and Peru will be looking to stay in the tournament by creating an upset against the French.

France couldn’t not create many chances in their 2018 World Cup opening game against Australia and needed VAR to finally break through with a penalty and had to wait until the last 10 minutes to get the winner (2-1). Australia played deep and pressed the talented French front line which made it impossible for the pacey forwards to find space and the press prevented the French midfield to dominate. After a last gasp victory in the first match for Iran they now will turn their attention to Spain in the 2018 World Cup. Spain’s first match has so far been the match of the tournament.

Spain scored 3 but couldn’t win their first match against Portugal. A lot has been made of the performance from Spain.
